Civil Litigation Attorney (5+ years)

The candidate must be a highly motivated self-starter able to work in a fast-paced environment, have an ability to work independently and in a group setting, capable of handling a large case load, make appearances in court, and meet the following criteria:

*Be an active member in good standing with the California Bar;

*Have excellent communication, analytical, and writing skills;

*Have excellent client relations.

Paralegal

The Paralegal will work under the direction of the attorneys to whom the Paralegal is assigned. This position requires researching law, investigating facts, and preparing documents to assist attorneys. The Paralegal will also be tasked with independently researching and analyzing legal sources such as statutes, recorded judicial decisions, legal articles, treaties, constitutions, and legal codes to prepare legal documents, such as briefs, pleadings and appeals for review, approval, and use by the attorneys.

Essential Functions:

Successful job applicants will be able to perform these essential functions with or without requested reasonable accommodations:

  • Research law, investigate facts, and independently prepare documents;
  • Summarize complex legal documents;
  • Organize and index complex case files;
  • Determine and calendar deadlines;
  • Perform wide variety of legal research and data compilation with little or no supervision;
  • File pleadings with court clerk;
  • Prepare reports and correspondence;
  • Draft a wide variety of legal documents.

 

Law Clerk

The successful candidate must have the skills and competency to communicate with people of all levels of the organization. Accurate information gathering is essential as is the ability to work with tight deadlines and prioritize conflicting demands whilst working effectively. The candidate must possess excellent organizational skills along with effective verbal and written communication skills. A high level of accuracy and attention to detail is essential. The candidate must also be computer literate and possess an excellent working knowledge of all pertinent software. The candidate must be highly motivated and interested in multiple areas of law.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Regular and reliable attendance;
  • Perform research and analysis of routine legal matters and draft memoranda of law;
  • Research relevant statutes, rulings, and regulations to be used as a basis for answering requests for legal opinions and company policies;
  • Assist with contract drafting and review, document review, and litigation support;
  • Provide administrative support to the attorneys;
  • Maintain complete confidentiality in all matters relating to the same;
  • Perform all other duties as assigned by management.

 

Reception File Clerk

Qualified candidates must possess a mastery of alphabetical, numerical, and chronological sequencing, computer proficiency, and a professional attitude and demeanor. Previous records management experience with knowledge of filing procedures and techniques in a legal environment is preferred, but not required. Duties will include filing litigation documents, creating and maintaining files, scanning documents, copying, faxing, and indexing boxes for off-site storage. Other duties include setting up and taking down conference rooms for meetings, reception, and other general office duties as required. Must have excellent communication skills and organization skills, and attention to detail.
